I'll be blogging on Cosmo Beauty Supply on State Street in Chicago! Why? Because I find beauty supplies interesting!! And what woman today doesn't? I will be blogging for a few weeks to complete my ethnography paper for my college writing class. So lets see how this goes!
I chose this spot because I don't think a lot of my classmates are knowledgable about hair care products. Especailly for African American hair. I feel like beauty supply stores are like my own secret treasure chest and I am willing to share some secrets!!!
Secret #1
Beauty supply stores not only sell beauty supplies, but other usefull items. Such as costume jelewery, make up, headbands, hats and scarfes and sometimes socks, Tshirts and underclothes for men, women, and children. Its a one stop shop for almost anything nowadays!!
Secret #2
Good beauty supply stores are usally Mom and Pop owned joints! People build their bussness from scraatch. I think this is great, because they have the power to serve a specific type of comunnity and keep their custermers happy. Its great knowing that your favorite brand of shampoo wont be gone because its not that popular. These types of stores understand what you need and like and they try to cater to you as much as possible.
Now there are a ton of secrets I could be sharing with you. But we cant have that can we?
